Glassware. This classic shaped vessel is decorated with the crescent and palm tree design from the South Carolina State Flag in blue instead of white. The original flag was created during the Revolutionary War for the South Carolina troops; the blue color was intended to match their uniforms; the crescent was a reproduction of the silver emblem they wore on their caps; and the palmetto tree was added later to represent Colonel William Moultrie's heroic defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island in 1776.
